This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to rescue a person in contact with low voltage live electrical conductors and equipment.
Course in Low Voltage Electrical Work Rescue is a short course, designed to cover the skills and knowledge required to be able to carry out a risk assessment of an electrically hazardous situation and perform low voltage rescue procedures without hazard to themselves or others.
This unit partially covers the skills of UEENEEE001A Apply OHS practices in the workplace from the UEE07 Electrotechnology Training Package.
It is a requirement of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2002, contained within the Queensland Electrical Safety Act 2002 that “An employer must ensure workers who are required to perform, or help in performing, electrical work are competent in rescue and resuscitation in accordance with recognised practices in the electricity industry.”

Course Details
Course Format: Complete unsupervised pre-course study and attend face to face training and assessment.
UETDRRF004 is 2hours (Refresher) 3hours (Face-2-face) & 15min (Online with face to face). HLTAID009/UETDRRF004 is 3.5hours (Blended) & HLTAID011/UETDRRF004 is 8hours (Blended)
Assessment:
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

Pre-requisites/ Entry Requirements:
Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including CPR and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins (Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions).
Physical fitness – Participants must have the physical capacity to complete a practical demonstration of a simulated LV panel rescue.
Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.
Co-requisite: HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for UETDRRF004 Perform rescue from a live LV panel
Standards: The course complies with policy advice from the Australian Resuscitation Council

UETDRRF004 – Perform rescue from a live LV panel
Practical Performance tasks and scenarios:
- Inspection and placement of rescue equipment and performing a rescue
- Low voltage panel rescue
Theory assessment – A written exam consisting of multiple-choice questions. All questions must be completed.
Course Set HLTAID011 & UETDRRF004 (First aid/ LVR)
Performance tasks and practical scenarios:
- Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
- Complete a first aid incident report form based on the simulated first aid scenario
- Perform CPR on an infant
- Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis
- Manage a casualty with asthma
- Manage a choking casualty
- Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning
- Manage a casualty with a nosebleed
- Manage a casualty with a fracture and dislocation
- Manage a casualty with a sprain and strain
- Manage a casualty with envenomation (snake/ funnel-web spider bite)
- Inspection and placement of rescue equipment and performing a rescue
- Low voltage panel rescue
Theory assessment – A written exam consisting of multiple-choice questions. All questions must be completed.

Please notify us of at the time of booking if you have a disability or any reason why you may not be able to kneel on the floor to carry out resuscitation practice, tie bandages or if you have any special needs regarding taking the written exam at the end of the day.

What to wear
You will need to wear comfortable casual clothing as we will spend a substantial amount of time kneeling or lying on the floor, bandaging and other practical applications of Senior First Aid. Writing material is not necessary – just bring a pen.

Proof of identity: NSW Drivers License, Passport, Birth Certificate, Student Identity with Photo. See the guidelines.
Provision for Lunch: All training locations are located close to shopping centres or a cafe. If you do not want to buy your lunch please bring it with you.
